Costs and Money in Sweden
Be sure to get plenty of krona, the official currency of Sweden, for your trip. The krona is divided into 100 ore, and is distributed into bills and coins. It’s easy to find an exchange kiosk at the airport in Sweden or anywhere in the major cities of Sweden. Banks in Sweden are usually open Monday through Friday from 10am to 3pm, and some banks have extended hours at least once a week. But please keep in mind that banks are closed on weekends, so get all the money you need by Friday. Credit Cards are accepted everywhere in Sweden, especially Visa, MasterCard, Eurocard, and American Express. Traveler’s Checks are great too.
